Changing of the Seasons
Photo taken inside Catskill Park. The Park is over 700,000 acres of wilderness located within the Catskill Mountains. The Catskill Park (also known as the Catskill Forest Preserve) was established in 1885. The Catskill Park is one of only two areas in New York State designated as "Forever Wild" - meaning the land is protected under Article XIV of the New York State Constitution. The article dictates the land "...shall be forever kept as wild forest lands. They shall not be leased, sold or exchanged, or be taken by any corporation, public or private, nor shall the timber thereon be sold, removed or destroyed." - Department of Environmental Conservation
